Here are some of the updates:
"While the damage suffered in areas of northeast Japan has been immense, Osaka, Kyoto, Shiga, and the rest of the Kansai region have not experienced any major disruptions as a result of the disaster. Ritsumeikan University, its facilities in Kyoto and Shiga, and the surrounding area are currently operating normally. Thus, the university does not foresee the need to cancel any previously scheduled activities at its campuses in these areas at this time.
For those students preparing for their departure to Japan, flights arriving at Kansai Airport, Itami Airport, and other airports in the Kansai region are currently unaffected by the disaster. For those students connecting through Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, or the greater Tokyo area, additional time may be needed due to rolling blackouts planned by Japanese authorities and other effects to the transportation system.
The university is continually responding to the ever-changing situation regarding the aftermath of the earthquake and will provide future updates as necessary."
I am praying for Japan's safety and recovery.
Hello, I'm one of skp students for a year from this April, too. Are you still sure that you're going to Rits? I'm so confused right now whether it's safe to be in Japan or not. Though tried to send you a message, I couldn't find how to, so I post a comment.
ReplyDeleteHi, JK!
ReplyDeleteI've been very confused as well, but I have finally decided that I am still going. My parents are also very worried about the exchange but my home university, as well as Rits, assured that Kyoto (as part of the Kansai region) is far from the affected areas. They said that Kyoto is actually safe.
I hope that everything works out.
And I hope that we can continue communicating.
Let me know about your final decision.
: )
Sorry for a late comment. I decided to postpone my skp to next semester. It was a hard decision but I don't want my family to be worried about my satefy though it's safe in Kansai. Hope you have a great time this semester! I'm sad that I can't see cherry blossoms. I'll see you next semester!
ReplyDeleteThat was very responsible of you, JK. Well, I guess I'll see you next semester! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Keep me posted :)
Hi, JK! I hope you can read this.
ReplyDeleteAre you coming to Rits in September? I'm looking forward to meeting you : )
